Found in estuaries along the British coastline, our cockle meat is sweet and delicate, and more versatile than you think. As they are low in fat and high in protein, they are great to keep in the freezer to serve up as a healthy snack.

We like to deep fry our cockle meat in a light tempura batter, dust with salt and paprika and dip in vinegar. Alternatively, simply pickle at home, to recreate the classic cockney-staple flavour, and serve as an aperitif alongside drinks.
