Smoked Mackerel Picnic Pate

What could be simpler than a rich, creamy smoked mackerel pate with lashing of butter on thick, soft brown bread. Our ready-made pate pots are perfect for a picnic in the park.

Ingredients
  

  • 56 g smoked mackerel pate
  • 4 slices brown bread
  • butter to spread
  • 1/4 lemon cut into wedges

Instructions
 

  • Thinly spread butter on to the bread slices. You won’t need a lot as the smoked mackerel is so rich and creamy. Quarter the slices and wrap in tin foil. Store lemon wedges in an airtight container.
  • Pack up as part of your picnic, and when ready to eat, thickly slather the bread with the pate and finish with a good squeeze of lemon.
