What could be simpler than a rich, creamy smoked mackerel pate with lashing of butter on thick, soft brown bread. Our ready-made pate pots are perfect for a picnic in the park.
Thinly spread butter on to the bread slices. You won’t need a lot as the smoked mackerel is so rich and creamy. Quarter the slices and wrap in tin foil. Store lemon wedges in an airtight container.
Pack up as part of your picnic, and when ready to eat, thickly slather the bread with the pate and finish with a good squeeze of lemon.
