Our coldwater prawns are sourced from the crystal-clear waters of the North Atlantic ocean. These are extra-large, so a far superior size to that which one would find in most supermarket aisles. These wild-caught prawns have been cooked and peeled so are ready to eat once defrosted. Perfect for salads, sandwiches or cocktail starters with marie rose sauce.

I always keep a bag or two of these prawns in my freezer. Often at the last minute I will take them out of the freezer put them in a zip-seal freezer bag and leave them in tepid water for 15 minutes or so, or until thawed. I knock up a quick thousand island sauce using ketchup and mayo in even measures, add a dash of worcester sauce or a kick of tabasco, and combine with the prawns. It’s then ready to be loaded straight into a jacket potato!
Sourced from Canada and Greenland, our cooked and peeled North Atlantic prawns are caught in inshore fisheries. These boats usually spend 3-4 days fishing, during which time the prawns are kept on ice. They are transferred to land and immediately cooked in their shells and then peeled, before being individually quick frozen.
