Whilst there is some truth in this statement, it’s often used to promote Fish & Seafood that has never been frozen as superior in contrast to Fish & Seafood that has been frozen – this is a misconception based on a myth which suggests freezing necessarily causes degradation.
The truth is frozen Fish & Seafood will often be just as good, if not better than Fish & Seafood that has not previously been frozen. In fact, when Fish & Seafood is frozen at its peak of freshness, locking in its natural ocean flavour and then packaged and stored properly therefore preventing premature degradation, you will often find that frozen is better. In contrast, Fish & Seafood that is not frozen may leave you wondering how many days have elapsed since it was harvested and if it really is that fresh – with frozen you can rest assured with added convenience! This is why we firmly believe Frozen is Fresh.
