Seared Tuna with Sticky Sesame Chilli and Soy dressing
Combining sesame and soy results in a beautifully balanced Asian-inspired dish which is fresh and flavoursome. Serve with simply seasoned noodles for that authentic finish. Quick, simple and healthy.
Before cooking, thinly slice the pepper and onion. Finely chop the garlic and chilli and set aside.
To cook the tuna, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan over a high heat. Once oil is hot, sprinkle the tuna with half the sesame seeds and cover all sides of the tuna. Add the tuna to the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes, turning halfway through.
In a separate pan, heat a tbsp of vegetable oil over a medium heat. Fry off the onions and peppers, adding the chilli and garlic, and cook until the vegetables soften slightly.
Add the noodles to the pan, mix well with the vegetables and drizzle in soy sauce and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Slice the tuna steaks into 1cm thick pieces. Place the noodles on the bottom of the plate and place the seared tuna on top. Drizzle the desired amount of soy sauce over to dress the dish.
