About our Cod Cheeks
North Atlantic cod cheeks are a real delicacy and expertly sliced from the head of the cod, just below the eye, allowing for less waste. The cod we use is sustainably sourced from our trusted suppliers ensuring we have full traceability of where the fish has come from and can closely monitor the quality and health of the fish we bring into our store. Cod cheeks are different to fish fillets in texture and are more similar to scallop meat in that respect. These cheeks are high in protein and low in fat making them a great addition to your meals.
Tips for cooking Cod Cheeks
The meat is firmer than cod fillets and lends itself better to pasta dishes, curries and stir-fries as the cheeks won’t flake apart as a fillet would. These cod cheeks are incredibly versatile and you can use them in a number of ways. Fry them in butter with garlic and rosemary until golden brown and serve, or add them to a stir fry or curry for a delicious and hearty meal. You can even deep fry them in batter or breadcrumbs and serve them with chips and peas for a classic fish and chip supper.
